My Funny Crochet Hat

Peer pressure works, it would seem, because here is my hat. It just popped out one day when Sharon was here which is often the case. She has this funky, other-worldly fibre arts anointing that prompts amazing things one has never done to appear right before one's eyes. Yea for creative, amazing friends like Sharon!  I didn't realize I could crochet. It's actually very easy and fast.

Do you see what I mean about making weird grandmother-ish things? My hat looks like something from 1930. Hmmm.

I continue to lament: Becca, please help!

the proof is in the puddin'

ok, some people around here don't believe i'm actually creating anything at all so i'm posting this as my proof!

yes, shya is happier playing with her hat than wearing it but it was my first attempt at a project for her and i think it turned out pretty nicely. she lives in a 'snow climate' so i'll have fun knitting for her through the years. and yes, everything i make ends up looking very grandmother-ish which is disconcerting.

becca...help?

Dreams & Fibre Arts

Well, I have now caved in and am blogging so this should be an interesting new endeavour. Welcome to my world!

My heart is a million miles away from where I sit tonight so I've created a place to dream and create, to learn from others and enjoy community.  I'm trying to tap into the creative source within me and maybe, just maybe, I'll complete the pile of projects in the cloth bag at my feet.

These are things to think about:

* Each art form has its own conversation going on ~S. Turner
* Genuine poetry can communicate before it is understood~T.S. Eliot
* It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child~Picasso
* To draw you must close your eyes and sing~Picasso (again!)

PS: Becca, I'm counting on your for great inspiration, my Utah fibre arts guru!
