Davis Farmer's Market

I've been asking the Lord to adjust my appetites (spiritual, natural, and whatever) for the past few months and I'm happy to report that fruit and veggies are finally beginning to appeal to me.  Who knew they could be so beautiful AND taste so lovely! This was one of the tables at the Farmer's Market in Davis. It was right next to the Karma Tent (hehehe)

Just for fun, I thought I'd throw in a couple of scenes of Davis life, as well. You never know what you'll see around there which is why I am SO IN LOVE with Davis!

How are the Farmer's Markets in your area? We are such an agricultural area that everything is lovely. We have to know these things when considering the future, you know ;)

Our Farmer's Market is not even comparable to the ones you have. :( I must be honest. The best one is downtown and parking sucks. If you ride trax down there (which is a pricey in my opinion) you must keep this in mind when considering purchases. It's hard to pack a watermelon or a case of peaches down to the station and onto the train. There are a few others here and there but a fraction of the size of the downtown one. Quantities are limited and last year I did buy a case of peaches and was quite disappointed in their taste. Flavorless. And your season is much longer. Ours is only about 4 months, with maybe 2 months of prime produce. The big one downtown starts this weekend and last year when I went at this time, there was really not much produce yet cuz its still so early for us. Mostly just art and plants. There are some roadside stands here and there for corn and melons but honestly nothing like you have in your area.
I must admit it is getting a bit better due to the popularity of "Buy Local" and going organic, but really nothing like you have.
There you have it, my honest opinion - don't let it discourage you though! We DO have an abundance of good quality SNOW!
